Male` sightseen tour

Male` City acts as the commercial and administrative hub of the country therefor the island is densely populated, with the built-up area occupying almost the entire landmass. The capital city houses slightly less than one-third of the country's population, its population has grown from 40,000 in 1987 to 100,000 in 2006 and 2026 census shows that Male` City's population is over 230,000 Maldivians from which are spread in Grater Male` area that includes Male` Vilimale and Hulhumale from which majority (in proportion) are in Male`. Unfortunately due to increasing number of citizens the picturesque forts and bastions were demolished starting in mid 1920's.  What remains from ancient construction is just Malé Friday Mosque, the last sultan's residence (now Sultan Park), Muliaage, Medhuziyaarath and just few other places yet worth to have a look.
